What is the iTero® Scanner?
The iTero® Intraoral Scanner is used to make a digital print of your mouth that can be used to aid orthodontic treatments. We’re sure you can recall a time when a dentist or orthodontist made an impression on your mouth using flavored “goop”. The iTero® Scanner does the same work as the “goop,” but it is digital, faster, and more accurate.
The arrival of the iTero® Scanner allows Dr. Omid, Dr. Arash, and our entire team to accurately and digitally map the inside of every patient’s mouth with 3D imaging, not only greatly reducing the time to make impressions of a patient’s mouth, but also increasing the accuracy of the impression as well. With the newfound high precision in digital imaging, we’ve improved the patient experience.
Advantages of Wearing Braces
How Does iTero® Scanner Work?
During your appointment, the iTero® Scanner is used to digitally photograph the entire mouth. During this process, the iTero® software pieces the images together creating a digital map. You and Dr. Omid or Dr. Arash will use this digital map to plan your visits and achieve your desired orthodontic results. The introduction of iTero technology eliminates the worry of radiation and uses laser imaging to generate images, creating a much safer experience for patients.
